My Birthday Weekend!

So my birthday was this past Saturday. I had a lot of fun this past weekend. It all started on Friday evening.

Friday evening Joey and I wanted to do something random so we went to Kemah. We had a plan of if we felt like it after Kemah we would drive to Lake Charles. We drove to Kemah and got there about 9:30. We went to eat at Salt Grass, got some really yummy food. Then afterwards we walked around and watched the fish in the bay! It was really neat! We saw some big fish, then some weird fish or sea snake. It was thin like a snake and slithered. It was cool! We walked to where they have where you can feed the fish. There were TONS of catfish! Mmmm lol

I had to go to the restroom, so we went to the Aquarium so I could use the restroom (wasn't sure where else to find one) and saw such pretty fish! There was a tube-like aquarium that was 3 stories high, the staircase wrapped around. There was an eel! He would open his mouth at people as they went down the stairs lol Like "Rawr! I'm an eel! Fear me!" :) Here's a picture.

We left Kemah and decided to go home, since we were both tired. We saw a DeLorean in the parking garage there!! That was neat!

Saturday was a nice lazy day. That night we went out to eat with our friends Kris and Priscilla and Brian and Jessica. We went to TGI Fridays. I did have 1 drink since I turned 21. I tried the Ultimate Electric Lemonade. It was really good!! After we ate we came back to our house, ate some yummy cookie cake and played Apples to Apples. It was so fun! :)

Here's the pretty cake Joey got me:

Sunday Joey and I had dinner at my mom's to celebrate my birthday. Dinner was really good and she even made me a cake :)

Overall this past weekend was great! I had a lot of fun being with my sweet husband, my friends, and my family!

Burney

Hi Everyone,

So most of you know about Burney. If not here is the story:

On the way home, about 2 weeks ago, Joey noticed something in the road in front of him. The car in front of him went around something and at first Joey said he didn't think the kitten was alive. Then the kitten moved so Joey stopped and picked him up. The kitten was having problems walking and was really malnourished. He brought him home where I then took him to an animal hospital. At that time the kitten was so terrified that he would hiss and jump at you. So the vet was not able to really check to see what was wrong with his back legs. The vet said that his hip was broken. We didn't do any x-rays since it was so expensive and we weren't sure how well the kitten would do. So we decided to cage-rest him and give him medicine.

By the next day Joey was able to pick him up, very carefully though. We would move the cage where ever we were and we opened the cage up that night and he wobbled around checking out some stuff.

Between that Friday and Monday Burney used the big litter box (we created a little one inside the cage for him to use), he would go and use it when he needed to w/o accidents. He could walk around just fine without any problems!! So that Monday we decided to let him stay out of the cage.

Now he is doing amazing!! Like a little miracle happened, yes I did pray for him. May sound strange, but I would not have been able to handle something bad happening to him. Yesterday he ate what I call big boy food (dry food). He runs around after me. He can climb onto the couch. He is very vocal and snuggly! I love it! He's very fluffy, I'm not sure if he's going to be long haired or if it's just kitten fluff.

He fits into the cat family very well, he is terrified of vacuums. :) Daisy and Burney are still working out their differences, for the most part she avoids him. Sometimes they can be close w/o hissing. I think Burney looks up to Yao. Burney will rub up against him, follow him around, and even goes to see what Yao is doing when he's drinking Burney's water. It is so adorable!!

So there's the latest news on what's been going on! More to come later!

Beautiful Summer

Hey Everyone,

The picture above is a beautiful sunset from back in Jan. when we went on our cruise. I thought I would share for your enjoyment!

So it is summertime! YAY!! I've been doing a lot of house stuff. Cleaning and organizing and a little decorating.  Sometimes soon I am hoping on painting. I have the colors picked out, we just need to decide when is the best time to do everything. I'm excited...we'll see how long that lasts :) It will look really nice once it's all done. And then I can hang stuff. I have been waiting on hanging things on the wall, so that is one less thing I have to do when we did paint. The colors are: for the formal rooms in the front, the kitchen, and living room: a neutral (beige-ish) color...then for our master bedroom will be a silverish blue color. I am excited! Eventually, maybe the other rooms will get painted too. I think the 4 rooms are enough for right now :)

I have started working for OneCamp. For about 3 years I have been handling the registration of the churches, making sure they pay, filing paperwork from the churches, filing the camper's information, then making all the badges for the campers, sponsers, and staff. I like it :) So far this year we started out really booked at 825 (which the camp usually has about 500-600, maybe 700 at the most) then I started doing more for the registration we are now at 710. We still have churches that have not even put in their deposit! (which the deadline has come and gone!) So basically I am the lady that calls the people and ask if they are coming to camp or not. It helps me with my weird anxiety of talking to strangers on the phone. Believe it or not I used to hate going through drive thrus, it would make me nervous...silly I know!

So I have done little projects around the house, to keep me busy during the day. Just the other day I was really random and went around and cleaned all the light switch plates and doors.

So far this summer I have:
- landscaped the front flower beds- trimmed the bushes and tree and pulled weeds
- got a shelf and put it together to organize the things in the garage
- bought and put together a cabinet to go in our bathroom to hold hand towels and such
- fixed up the guest bedroom, rearranged stuff to make it look nice
- cleaned - a lot, of course :)
- read a book
- put some stuff up, out of the boxes
- picked out paint colors, it's harder than it sounds
- organized the clothes in our closet
- gone through my clothes
- cleaned the all switch plates and doors as mentioned above
- started reading a 2nd book

Things I want to do this summer:
- Read at least 3 books
- Paint the 4 rooms mentioned above
- Fully clean the jacuzzi tub - need to clean the water in-take filter
- Finish the guest bathroom- get a screw in the wall shower rod and put up the shower curtain
- work more in the yard- get rid of the weeds and really make the flower beds look nice.
- organize the office - all the papers
- organize the filing cabinet
- put up as many boxes as possible
- find a bookshelf (or another one) that will hold all Joey and I's books and my school stuff.
I'm sure I will think of other things to do too :)

Oh I haven't told you about what I found in the front flower beds. When I was doing yard work, I was trimming the little bushes and pulling weeds I noticed that there were a lot of........LADYBUGS!! :D I love ladybugs! There was a lot of dead leaves from the bush that were just in the flower bed and the ladybugs were all in there! I didn't do anything with the dead leaves bc I didn't want to hurt the ladybugs. There were a lot of them! It made me happy to see them, it made me work a little more carefully too!

That's all I have for now :)

I will keep you updated on what I accomplish on my to do list and what's happening this summer :)

Have a great day!
