New favorites!

My mom got us our a Scentsy this past Christmas! Since then, it has been turned on almost every night. My mom got 4 different scents for us too! We have our favorite now!
Enchanted Mist!
It smells so gooood!
We are running low on it too! I only have 4 little cubes left. Oh No! I think next time I'll get the big brick! Yep, that's how much we like it!
We do have one more to try, White Tea and Cactus...I'm afraid it'll be too strong, we'll see! I'm saving it for Summer time!

I tried something else new this week, and I am so happy I did!
Nivea's new Milk & Honey Lip Balm
I've been wanting to try it and it was on sale :)

I like it because it doesn't make my lips slimy like the blue Nivea "kiss of moisture" one. I liked that one too, but I had to tap it on my lip so I did not put too much on.

This balm is like Burt's Bees but much cheaper! It's my favorite now!

If you are looking for a new Scentsy scent or lip balm, I recommend these two!

Have a great Friday and weekend!

(I guess I should include that I was not paid or anything for this post, not like a big company like Nivea would contact me on my little blog to do a review/giveaway. That would be cool though and I am open to it. Nivea, I like your stuff and I'm sure my 3 readers would too!)

My Valentine's Day Gift

Look what Joey got me for Valentine's Day!! :)

I had a bunch of things on my favorite list on Etsy! :) I told Joey he could pick something off of there for Valentine's and this is what he chose!

- 5 owl charms
- 5 bird cage charms
- 1 adorable pink flower hair clip and it's also a pin!
- a pair of CUTE earrings!!

Here's a close up of the earrings! They're called Sweet Love Birds. I LOVE them!
I am actually wearing them right now :)

The charms so adorable! I wanted them to make a necklace.
I have already made a birdcage set, an owl set of earrings, and have an owl necklace.
I used a chain I already had and put the owl on it.
It's funky, I like it!
I'm still looking for a longer(24 inch) and correct color chain so I can have even more options!

I forgot to take a close up of the flower. The chiffon fabric it is made of is so soft and is well constructed! It is so cute! I'm not sure how to wear it in my hair yet, but it looks super cute pinned on a shirt/dress/cardigan! I'll share a picture later. :)

I have such a sweet husband! Not because he gets me things, but because of the things he does everyday! He  takes care of me and our little animal farm :) I love the way he understands me, even when I don't make sense! I could not have asked for a better man!  I am one blessed girl!

Valentine's to Spring Decor

Our Mantel

"All you Need is Love" is an engagement card we got from Joey's aunt!

A vintage valentine's card. These were my great grandma's!

I really liked this display! Simple, yet pretty!

Spring Decor

Vase filler from Target

Bird picture = Free!
Spray painted already had frame, bird picture- actually from a gift bag!

Blue grass was in a gift basket I got. It matches the blue jars perfectly!

I am so looking forward to Spring! Thankfully, the weather here has been in the 70's this week and last week!
Yay!

A Fun, Easy Recipe

A few Sundays ago, as I was napping, Joey was looking at different websites. As I slowly woke up, he said "hey look at this!!" And showed me this:

It was only about an hour before we had to be at our church youth super bowl party. So Joey ran to the Kroger in front of our house. He called trying to figure out the measurements. We decided to get 4 family size and 1 regular size box. As we started making it, we quickly found out we only needed 1 family size box!

Here is our's!
(Sorry low lighting!)

This is SO yummy and addicting! So Joey calls it Fruity Pebble Crack. lol

Here is the recipe!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fruity Pebble Treats

You Need:
3 tbsp. butter
1 (10oz) package of marshmallows or 4 cups of mini marshmallows
6 cups of Fruity Pebbles
*P.S. 6 cups of fruity pebbles equals almost a family size box.

  - Melt butter in saucepan on low heat.
  - Add marshmallows, stir until they are completely melted. Remove it from heat
  - In a big bowl, add melted marshmallow and Fruity Pebbles. With a greased spatula mix together
  - Grease a 9x13 pan, pour mixture into it
  - Using a greased spatula or wax paper press treat down to cover the whole inside of the pan
  - Wait till it cools, cut and enjoy!!

(this is a gluten-free recipe)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Also, a while back I shared a chocolate chip cookie recipe that I had found.
Here is the recipe:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chocolate Chip Cookies
Yields 2-3 dozen (depends on the cookie size)

1 cup of room temp. butter
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
     - Cream together.
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
     - Mix together
3 cups flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
     - Mix together
Mix in 1 bag of chocolate chips( we use tollhouse semi-sweet)
**Chill in the fridge for about 2-4 hours
         - This step is important, the longer it chills, the longer the dough has to rise = fluffier cookies!

    - Cook at 375 for 10-12 minutes

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I LOVE this recipe because the cookies turn out like this.

 Nice and fluffy!!

Those are some easy/ yummy recipes!
Right now we have both goodies in the kitchen! :)

Have a sweet day! ;)

My Laundry Room

I knocked off one thing on my to do list. I wanted to rearrange the laundry room. It is a pretty nice sized space, but I thought it could be organized better.

Before:
Here it is! I love my colorful rug!

There was so much junk on the top shelf!

A closer look! Yikes!
Box of the paint for our walls-from the builder, Extra rolls of Bounty
Box of Caulk, Wood Glue, left over paint, an iron, BBQ accessory kit, Unused caddy and
Random boxes

The door opens inward and this lurks behind it!
Those blinds were in a kitchen cabinet when we moved in.
They're those cheapy plastic blinds

On the left as you walk in.
My vacuum for the kitchen tile, container of litter, the red one holds kitty food.
I moved their food to a clean cat litter container to keep any ants out.
One big bag of Purina fits perfectly!
- That shelf was a total mess and unorganized, but I forgot to take a picture of it.

After:

This is still about the same.
My pretty rug makes me smile!

Ta-Da!
Most of the boxes were trashed.
Some stuff got put in a better area!
BBQ set- under the wire shelf!
Oh that big brown box = Spare litter pan liners for the automatic litter box(a has to stay there box)

SO much better!! I have more room to move!

The shelf, now organized!

On top of the shelf.  The lid to my antique bowl holds my jewelry/etc at times.

This is one of my favorite parts of this room!
I wrote on some of them, words from songs and scripture.

I changed the background in this frame, it was solid turquoise fabric.
I found this scrapbook paper on clearance at Hobby Lobby.
I like it much better!
My favorite winter scent from Bath and Body Works! Yum!

That's my little organizing re-do! I am happy with it! Just a little bit of work and the space is so much better! :)

Making Bread

is a very messy process!

Sad part was, my bread did not turn out! Brown on the outside, still doughy on the inside.
For some reason it would not rise correctly.
Oh well, I'll try again someday!

A few more of my favorite sites!

A while back I did this post about my favorite sites!
I was talking with my mom today and was telling her about different sites I liked, so I went to my old post and looked through the list again. I want to add a few more!

Decorating/Homemaking:

- Nesting Place - I love this site! I have posted about it before here. I love that she inspires you to decorate with things you love, not just because they are "in" and that she reminds me that your house does not have to be perfect!

- The Inspired Room - This is another great decor blog! Her's and Nesting Place are two sites I check daily! She always has great tips!

Shopping:

- Amazon- I love amazon! You can find great deals on a lot of things, even grocery items! Plus I got a free 1 year subscription to their Amazon Prime (free 2 day shipping)! I got it through their student edition! They also have a great club for mom's! I have seen great deals on diapers through that program, just letting you know! I won't need those for a while :)

- Etsy- There is so much great stuff on Etsy! There is vintage things, items that you can buy to make jewelry/crafts, and also handmade items! I have gotten a few things off of there and it has all been a great experience!

Crafts:

- The Cape on the Corner- I am not sure how I found this blog, but I am happy I did! She has great crafts/decorating makeovers, cute posts about her kitty, and random posts that make me laugh!

There you go! Just a few more sites added to the list! Have a great day!

Basket Case

No, I am not crazy! I am more and more loving baskets! I love that you can add one on a table, throw your stuff in it and it looks nice!

I went to Goodwill a few weeks ago looking for a nice basket to contain our turtles' stuff (food, treats, etc.)

I was so happy with what I found!

1st basket

 For $1.99
I love the shape of it!
However it was an ugly dark green color and it wasn't spray painted well!

I went to Home Depot, picked up some spray paint, with a gift card we had.

I had to put it in the light so you can see the color better.
I made sure I got all areas and angles.

Ta-Da! It is perfect for the turtle stuff!

2nd basket
Or should I say baskets!
I wasn't planning on buying a lot of baskets, but these were only $1.99 each!
Which we have another basket set (came with 4 sizes) like these but those were $17!
Total: $5.97 for 3!

3rd basket

$1.99- catching a trend! lol
Had a Christmasy liner in it, but I started to pull it off at the store to see if it could be easily removed.

Much better! I think it looks so much nicer!

4th basket

The very last basket.
Which now holds my silver bird
Hmm...this one:
I thought the basket looked like a nest!
As soon as I saw it I thought of this birdy!

Sorry I forgot to take a picture of it now!

There you have it, all my baskets!
Total cost: $10.94  for 6!

I'll show you where I put the nice lined ones as soon as I wash the liners and get them put up!
Have a nice day! Stay warm! (It's 35 in Houston)
